For All Students:

Art Club starts on Wednesday, September 14 and runs every Wednesday from after school until 4:30 in the Creative Structure room. All new and old members are welcome! ~Mr. Spafford

Are you interested in getting involved in what happens at your school?  About once every month teachers meet to discuss a variety of topics that affect our school.  We would love to have student input on these committees.  The groups discuss topics such as communication at RHS, PLP’s, preparation to help welcome our New Americans this fall, stories of these individual and more.  We meet for one hour after school 7 times during the school year.  Please see Mrs. Wigmore if you are interested, it’s a great way to get involved and have your voice heard.

The 21st Annual Really Big Show will be presented at the Paramount Theatre on Saturday, November 5th at 7pm.  Show auditions are scheduled for 5:30-8:30 PM on Friday, September 30th and Tuesday, October 4that the Rutland High School Theatre.

Audition applications can be downloaded at www.uwrutlandcounty.org, or they are available at the United Way of Rutland County office at the Vermont Achievement Center building, 88 Park Street, or at People’s United Bank, 87 West Street.

The application deadline is September 23, 2016.  Participants must be at least 8 years old and not professional entertainers.

 

 

YEARBOOKS

 

Yearbooks are now on sale and can be purchased by:  1.  Going to the RHS website and clicking on Resources menu (at top of the screen) then choosing “Purchase a Yearbook”  2. coming to White 16 and picking up an order form or 3.  scanning the QR codes around the building or 4.  by going online to:  http://tinyurl.com/buyrhsbook .

 

Save money and buy now for $45.00.  After October 10, prices go up to $50 and after December 31,  books will cost $55.

 

Parent Ads for graduating seniors are limited, so do not wait to purchase them.  The cost is $100 and you can purchase them by going online to: http://tinyurl.com/rhsparentad2017

 

Yearbook students who are going on the field trip September 19 need to have their permission slip, and medical form into Mrs. Renfrow by Friday, September 9.

 

ALL SENIORS must bring in their 2017 Yearbook Senior Pages forms completed to White 16.  If you need one, pick it up in White 16.

 

 

 

 

 

GUIDANCE:

 

Senior Information Night is scheduled for Thursday, September 22 @ 6 pm in the Theater.  A very informative evening for parents and students about the Senior year.  More information to follow.

 

Junior Information Night is scheduled for November 9 (please note date change) @ 6 pm in the Theater.

Juniors and Seniors..

The Guidance Department has a list of scheduled visits from many college representatives.  Most will begin their visits to RHS next week.  If you are interested in attending one of these visits, students need to stop by the Guidance Office and sign up and receive a pass to attend.

Fine Arts:

 

All Encore members who are planning to participate in backstage elements – there will be a workshop on Sept. 12. This workshop will give an overview of each of the backstage areas. Specific workshops will be offered during the rest of the week. The workshop will run from 3:30-5:30.  Actors are encouraged to attend as well.
