On May 8-10, three members of the Jazz Ensemble represented Rutland High School at the Vermont All State Music Festival.
Back in January, students from around the state participated in a highly competitive audition process to gain membership into the 2019 All State Jazz Ensemble. From those auditions, seniors Caitlin French and Nolan Hanna and freshman Brady Geisler were selected to participate in the 19 member group.
The All State Jazz Ensemble rehearsed for three days and performed a concert to a packed auditorium at U-32 High School in Montpelier. The group will meet again to perform as part of the Burlington Discover Jazz Festival on May 31, presenting a concert on Church Street as well as opening for Bobby McFerrin at the Flynn Theater the same evening.
