All library books need to be returned to the library. Do you have library books at home, in your locker, or bag? Bring them in to the library ASAP.

 

Students who were not in attendance for the Undergraduate Awards Night, Wed., June 7 please stop by the Main Office and pick up your award certificates.

 

The 6th Annual Health Fair will be held on Tuesday, June 13th from 12:30 – 2:00 inside/outside the cafeteria. All RHS and STC students and faculty are invited to come. Visit all of the booths to be eligible to win gift cards from Dick’s Sporting Goods, Roots the Restaurant, Rutland Country Club, Northwood Pool, Flip Side, Mendon Mini Golf & Snack Bar, Green Mt. Rock Climbing and Bowlerama. This event is sponsored by the Coordinated School Health Team.

 

If you ordered socks  from Encore. They are in. Come see Mrs. Archer and pick them up. If you did not pay you need to have money to get your socks. We will be selling socks during lunch the last three days of YES plan.

-The Senior Calendar of Events has been emailed to you as of the end of day May 1st, and is attached to this email.  Please check this important listing of events.  There are copies available to pick up in the Guidance Office

 


PROJECT GRADUATION event for Seniors

WHEN: June 15th,  9:00pm to 3:00am ; need to arrive by 11:00pm

WHERE: Pico Mountain Sports Center

WHAT TO BRING: Great attitude, your friends, swim suit/towel

TICKETS: Available at main office starting on June 12th, during Awards night and Rehearsal breakfast and there is NO CHARGE!

There will be plenty of food, entertainment such as a hypnotist, magician, photo booth, casino event, music/dancing, twister/jousting inflatable games and swimming pool. There will be gift bags and raffle prizes for each graduate that attends. Raffle prizes range from gift cards, $$$, jewelry to two round trip Cape Air tickets from Rutland to Boston!! Hope to see you there! Don’t miss out on all the fun!!!!

Attn Juniors:  **Parking Permit Applications for next year’s Seniors (Class of 2018) are now available in the Attendance Office**

 

Both the student Parking Lot and the Gleason Road Parking Lot are at capacity.  As a result, the Attendance Office is no longer issuing student parking permits for this year.

Current sophomores taking junior AP English Language from Mr. French next year need to pick up their summer assignment in Room Red 15.

 

The Tapestry Program is looking for lifeguards to work this summer.  You must be at least 16 years old and certified in the lifeguard course.  Please call 786-1967 for more information.

 

FINE ARTS:

RHS Encore YES Plan presents: “In The Heights”! A musical written by the creator of “Hamilton”, Lin Manuel Miranda! We will be performing at the Paramount theater on June 16 at 7pm and June 17 at 1pm! Prices are 10 dollars for 18 and under and over 65 years of age and 12 dollars for over 18. Our summer Institutes give talented students the chance to immerse themselves in a topic they love, make new friends from all over the state, and experience life on a college campus. The Carving Studio is looking for students to participate in their annual “Stone Bench Project”. This excellent course is completely free and a great way to learn how to carve stone for two weeks this summer. Please contact Mr. Spafford if you are interested.

 

EPIC:

Do you want to spend the summer at the beach? Playing sports? Learning about colleges? Performing a play? Making crafts, jewelry and clothes? Whatever you want to do, EPIC has a summer program for it. Camps are open to all students, provide breakfast and lunch and run every week throughout the summer. Stop by the guidance office for a full list of camps and sign-up sheets or look for the attachment in the announcements email

 

ATHLETICS:

 

-Baseball Banquet is Tuesday 6/13 in the Rutland High School Cafeteria:

Varsity and JV teams should bring enough dinner food for 2 families. Middle schoolers should bring drinks for 3 families and a dessert

 

-The Boys Lacrosse banquet will be Tuesday 6/13  at 7:00 PM  in  Rutland Middle School cafeteria.  It will be dessert and drinks only.
Please bring:
7th & 8th grade:  6 drinks (water, gatorade, soda)
9th, 10th & 11th grade:  Bring a small dessert to share.
12th grade:  Relax and enjoy your last sports banquet with your senior

 


GUIDANCE:

Please stop by the Guidance Office and complete the Senior Information Survey!  Your transcript will need to be sent to your college or university and if you don’t inform your guidance counselor, your transcript won’t be sent in a timely manner.

 

Scholarships that are currently available from the Guidance Office:

-Due:  July 1, 2017

The Bill Belichick Foundation Scholarship is now available. This is a very worthwhile scholarship to apply for as the awards are $5,000.  The graduating Class of 2016 had two students who were recipients.
