The Vermont Department of Health named RHS as one of three high schools in the state recognized for promoting wellness in 2011.

The Fit and Healthy Kids School Wellness Awards highlights schools whose policies and practices reflect a high priority on healthy outcomes for children and staff.  Top scoring schools receive cash prizes to support school wellness activities and a banner recognizing their efforts

The awards are sponsored by the Vermont Departments of Health and Education, New England Dairy and Food Council and the Vermont Health Education Initiative.
